Dune Racer 300 specifications & performance

Monster Traction System & All-Terrain Performance
The Dune Racer 300 earns its name with our exclusive Monster Traction drive system, engineered to handle terrain that stops ordinary ride-ons in their tracks. We equipped this model with oversized, deep-tread tires that provide exceptional grip on grass, dirt paths, gravel driveways, and even wet pavement after a morning rain.
Unlike standard Power Wheels with smooth plastic wheels, the 300 series features rubber-enhanced treads that channel mud and debris away from the contact patch. This means your young drivers maintain control and momentum whether they’re climbing gentle slopes in the backyard or cruising across uneven ground.

Dual-Speed Control & Safety Features
We built the Dune Racer 300 with a two-speed transmission that grows with your child’s driving confidence. First gear delivers a gentle 2.5 mph—ideal for new drivers learning steering and spatial awareness. Once they’ve mastered the basics, second gear unlocks 5 mph of thrilling speed that still keeps young riders safe.
Our parent-controlled lockout feature is a game-changer for families with multiple children or varying skill levels. Simply flip the switch under the hood to disable second gear, ensuring younger or less experienced drivers stay in the slower mode until they’re ready for more speed.
Battery Life & Charging System
12-Volt Rechargeable Power
The Dune Racer 300 runs on a sealed 12-volt rechargeable battery that’s included with your purchase, along with our standard wall charger. On a full charge, expect 40 to 50 minutes of continuous run time under typical conditions—plenty for an afternoon adventure session.
Actual battery duration varies with rider weight, terrain type, and driving style. Heavier loads (two riders at maximum combined weight) or constant uphill driving will reduce run time, while flat-surface cruising can extend it beyond 50 minutes. We recommend charging the battery for at least 18 hours before first use and 14 hours after each play session.

Your Dune Racer 300 Questions Answered
The Dune Racer 300 has a total weight capacity of 130 pounds for both riders combined. This means two average-sized children (around 65 pounds each) can ride together comfortably.
For one larger child, the vehicle will perform best with riders under 130 pounds. Exceeding the weight limit can reduce battery life, strain the motor, and affect climbing performance on slopes.
On a full charge, the 12-volt battery provides 40 to 50 minutes of continuous run time under typical conditions. Actual duration depends on rider weight, terrain type, and driving habits.
Driving uphill, on rough terrain, or with maximum weight will reduce run time. Flat-surface cruising with lighter loads can extend battery life beyond 50 minutes. We recommend charging for 14 hours after each play session to maintain optimal battery health.
Absolutely. The Dune Racer 300 features our Monster Traction system with oversized, deep-tread tires specifically designed for grass, dirt, gravel, and wet pavement. The rubber-enhanced treads provide excellent grip on uneven surfaces.
Many families use this model on lawns, driveways, dirt paths, and mulched play areas without any traction issues. The wide wheelbase adds stability on slopes and during turns over bumpy ground.
We recommend the Dune Racer 300 for children ages 3 to 7 years. Younger riders (ages 3-4) benefit from the slower 2.5 mph first-gear setting and parent-controlled lockout feature.
Older kids (ages 5-7) enjoy the 5 mph second-gear speed and increased independence. The adjustable footwell accommodates growing children, though taller 7-year-olds may find the cockpit snug as they approach the upper age range.
The parent-controlled lockout is a switch located under the hood that restricts the vehicle to first gear only (2.5 mph). When engaged, the second-gear option is disabled, even if your child tries to shift.
To activate the lockout, open the hood and flip the switch to the “locked” position. This feature is ideal for younger or less experienced drivers. Once they’ve mastered slow-speed control, flip the switch back to allow full two-speed access.
Assembly typically takes 30 to 45 minutes and requires basic tools: a Phillips screwdriver and an adjustable wrench (both usually not included). The Dune Racer 300 arrives partially assembled with the main body, seats, and cage pre-attached.
You’ll install the wheels, connect the battery, attach the steering wheel, and apply decals following our illustrated instruction manual. Online assembly videos are available in our customer support center if you prefer step-by-step visual guidance.
We don’t recommend leaving the Dune Racer 300 outdoors permanently. While the electrical system is splash-resistant, prolonged exposure to rain, snow, and extreme temperatures can damage the motor, battery, and wiring.
Store the vehicle indoors or under a waterproof cover when not in use. If storing for extended periods (30+ days), disconnect the battery and keep it in a dry location to preserve charge capacity and extend its lifespan.
